Junior Boys and Girls Soccer Academy Program U7 through U9 (ages 6-9)
The Junior Academy is a new CUSA grassroots program for players in age groups U-7 through U-9 (ok for ages 6-9). The academy is ideal for players who thrive in a fun but structured skills-based environment. Whether they are new to the game or have played soccer, our highly qualified trainer will teach the technical and tactical side of the game.
Junior Academy will include ten sessions led by our CUSA staff, CUSA travel coaches, and guest appearances from former CUSA club, college and professional players. Players will be challenged through a dynamic age appropriate curriculum. Training sessions focus on ball skills, development of proper soccer specific movement patterns, and small sided games. This approach allows each player to have a ball at their feet, to maximize the touches on the ball and increase the player’s dynamic and technical play.
The group training sessions follow a variety of training methodology. Each session will utilize a Play, Practice, Play model. Additionally, players will participate in station rotation to improve their overall technical ability. Each player is expected to have cleats, shin guards, and a size 3 soccer ball.
Sessions will take place during evenings during the week and/or Saturday mornings. Sessions will start mid-March and will end in mid-May. Sessions will take place at CUSA fields in Elizabeth City.
Price for the sessions will be $125 and will also receive two club training tee-shirts
