Carolina United Soccer Association head coach Tony Gomez

Tony Gomez

DIRECTOR & U11 BOYS HEAD COACH

Coach Tony Gomez from Deep Creek, Virginia, was discovered by a major club team as a 7-year-old dribbling a ball on the sidelines of his big brother’s soccer game. Soccer runs in the blood of the Gomez family, and those roots are deep. Since childhood, Tony has been tagging along with his big brothers throughout their ECNL, D1 college, and pro-level soccer careers. So, it's no surprise that once hitting the pitch, he too was making a name for himself in the game of soccer. Tony has many notable achievements on his resume to include playing D1 as the headlining kicker for Norfolk State University, State Soccer Team member, ECNL level player, and the list goes on. Tony is a former college Soccer Coach, current middle/high school coach with ECPPS, and possesses his National High School coaching license. As a full-time middle school teacher, it is obvious that Tony has a gift for connecting with children. This dedicated husband and father of 3 has big dreams and a matched drive to take soccer in Northeastern North Carolina to the next level.

Dan Kahn

U11 - U13 GIRLS HEAD COACH

Coach Dan Kahn from Madison, Georgia is no stranger to competitive sports. His father was a baseball, wrestling and soccer coach and he grew up fast, often practicing with his father's high school teams. Although he never played soccer competitively, he was a highly successful wrestler, ball player and track and cross country star. Some of his accomplishments included qualifying for state tournaments in track and cross country and becoming a two-time Georgia State Wrestling Champion. His athletic ability earned him several scholarship offers from D1 schools, including the United States Coast Guard Academy. Ultimately settling on the Coast Guard, mostly due to his desire to serve his country immediately after 911, he graduated as an Officer in the Coast Guard in 2006 and continues to serve today. Having served 7 years at sea, he decided it was time to stick to dry land and focus on his 3 children and their love of the sport of soccer. Coaching soccer for the last 4 years, he brings a competitive edginess with an expertise in moving the opposition out of the way.
